Ryan Mahon comes to Blinn College to be the interim head coach. He has been an architect of one of the most prolific offenses in the NJCAA over the past several years. 

Mahon comes to Blinn after coaching for one year at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College as the offensive coordinator. Before that, Mahon spent 10 seasons at Tyler Junior College, the last eight years was as both an offensive coordinator and associate head coach. 

A native or La Grande, Ore., Mahon built a fast paced, run/pass balanced offense at Tyler. 

During the 2014 season, Mahon's offense at Tyler was ranked No. 2 in scoring offense (57.7 points per game), No. 4 in total offense (544.4 yards per game), No. 4 in rushing offense (281.5 yards per game) and No. 14 in passing offense (262.8 yards per game). 

During his tenure at Tyler, Mahon coached eight NJCAA All-Americans, two Southwest Junior College Football Conference offensive MVPs, one SWJCFC overall MVP and 34 all-conference offensive selections. 

Mahon guided Tyler offenses that appeared in the SWJCFC championship in 2011 and 2014 and won the 2013 Capital of Kansas Bowl in Pittsburg. 

Mahon was hired at Tyler before the 2005 season as the quarterbacks/wide receivers coach. We was promoted to offensive coordinator and associate head coach in 2007. 

Before his successful run at Tyler, Mahon served one season as running backs coach at Texas A&M University-Commerce (2005). In 2003 and 2004, Mahon was the running backs/receivers coach at Feather River (Calif.) College.

As a player, Mahon was a quarterback at Eastern Oregon University where he was a four-year letter winner. 

Mahon earned his bachelors of science degree in history at Eastern Oregon University and his masters of education in health and kinesiology from the University of Texas at Tyler.

Mahon is married to the former Pam Hutson of Paris, Tenn.
