Jorden Smith comes to Blinn College to be the head coach of the inaugural men’s and women’s soccer teams. Prior to her arrival, she spent two seasons as the head assistant for the Angelina College men’s and women’s soccer programs.
Smith helped launch Angelina’s men’s and women’s soccer programs in 2016. Since its launch, the women’s soccer team compiled a 15-18 record and reached the NJCAA Region XIV Tournament semifinals.
Prior to Angelina College, she served as the assistant coach at Cisco College from 2014-16. During her time as a coach there, the Lady Wranglers compiled a 22-10-4 record, were named regular season champions both seasons, and competed in the NJCAA Region V Championship both seasons. In 2014, Cisco held a No. 15 ranking and defeated the No. 5 team in the nation for the first time in school history.
As a high school soccer player, Smith lettered all four years at McNeil High School in Round Rock. She also was a member of the Austin Lonestar Soccer Club.
Smith began her collegiate soccer career at Cisco College, where she served as team captain and earned all-conference honors both seasons as a center defender. As a two-year starter, she combined for 10 goals and 12 assists in 37 games and claimed All-America honors her sophomore year. The Lady Wranglers competed in the NJCAA Region V championship game both years that Smith played.
Smith transferred to Lubbock Christian University, where she was a two-year starter and captain as a center midfielder. She earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science in May 2013.
